Judge Kiger
Judge James “Jim” Kiger has dedicated nearly three decades to serving the citizens of Douglas County. A 1991 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, he joined the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office in 1998 and rose to become Chief Assistant Public Defender, a position he held with pride for nearly 30 years. Judge Kiger and his wife, a local pharmacist, raised their two children in Douglas County, both graduates of Douglas County High School. His lifelong commitment to fairness, integrity, and public service continues to guide him on the bench.
